Spartans survive tough first true road game of the season at Rutgers
The Spartans fought the toughness of playing their first true road game of the season but now stand 8-1 on the season and 2-0 in the Big Ten. Behind 21 points from Miles Bridges, the Spartans pulled away to a 10 point victory late after being tied at 26 at the half. This game had the feel of a back and forth slug it out Big Ten contest. The Spartans took the victory 62-52. Rutgers was led by 13 points from Deshawn Freeman. Rutgers has a bright future ahead with freshman Geo Baker, who scored 11 points.
Jaren Jackson Jr was all out on the defensive end where he finished with8 blocks to go along with 11 points offensively. A quiet night for Nick Ward as he didn't play much if at all in the second half.
