The Spartans return home to host the Thunderbirds of Southern Utah on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.

Spartans are coming off a tough Big Ten battle with Rutgers on Tuesday where the Spartans fought for a 62-52 victory. that was their first true road game of the season.

The Spartans have six of their next seven at the Breslin Center with their matchup next week against Oakland tipping off at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Part of the doubleheader that also features U of M and Detroit Mercy.

The Spartans continue to be led by Miles Bridges who scored 21 points in the win at Rutgers, which takes his season total to a team-high 123 points.

Joshua Langford sits second on the team with 122 points.

Nick Ward 120 points and will continue to look to be fed in the post. He continues to get to the free line game in and game out.

Cassius Winston 112 points and is also the team leader in assists with 62 on the season.

Jaren Jackson Jr the Freshman has 91 points on the season. He also tied the record for blocks in a game after registering 8 blocks at Rutgers. Jackson leads the team in blocks. Jackson has 25 blocks through 9 games. He also leads the team in rebounding as he has pulled down 65 boards so far this season.

Leading the bench scoring is junior guard Matt McQuaid or Quaido as Coach Izzo and the Izzone calls him, has 62 points on the season.

The Thunderbirds are coached by Todd Simon and are led by number 12 Jadon Cohee who is averaging 17.0 point per game. Number 15 Jamal Aytes is also a player to watch for the Thunderbirds as he is averaging 15.0 ppg. The Thunderbirds are coming off a win over San Diego Christian who they defeated on Saturday 87-68 where Brandon Better led the team with 21 points, so watch out for him in this game.

The Spartan defense will look to continue to dominate and this game seems like a game where we could see the trio of Bridges, Jackson, and Ward all score in double figures. Watch out for the Block Party from Jaren Jackson.
